Our Man in Havana (Graham Greene)

This espionage thriller is the third book in English language that I have read like a part of the advanced module from British Council called "Language through literature".

The story is developed in Cuba (Havana). When the teacher told us the name of the module book, “Our Man in Havana”, in some of the classmates felt a strange sensation of curiosity. It was because another book, The old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway. It was developing in Cuba too. By the way, the last one was a little boring for us, a group of beginners in the study of English Literature, but it was a good experience to learn and improve our language skills.

At this moment we have finished to read the second part of “Our man in Havana”. The story is changing the way, and the main character, Mr. Wormold, a former vacuum cleaner salesman, who at first part of the book looked like a sincere and honest man, right now he is lying to M16s officers. The information that he send is an invention of his creativity. It seems like Wormold is entering step by step in some issues that will make difficulties in his live and in the live of his child too.

  1. I don´t know if Wormold´s activities are going to complicate his daugther`s life or if Milly´s friends will make difficult wormold´s life.
