Thinking about nuclear technology

Nuclear technology has been one of the most amazing discoveries of the twentieth Century.  Electricity production, medical treatments and weapons are the typical uses for this technology. This process to produce energy has had some consequences too. Atomic wars threats, radiation accidents in nuclear plants, and bad management of nuclear waste are some of the consequences of the government’s corruption and ambition of power.

For that reason, it is necessary to consider clear and specific rules for the development and application of nuclear technology. These rules should be applied to every country, banning every action to built nuclear weapons or when some evidences of neglect in the management of the atomic technology will have appeared.  Furthermore, some developing countries without a democracy government have the intention to start a nuclear career. It is a significant danger to the safe of the humanity.

On the other hand, many cancer patients have been treated with nuclear medicine, obtaining excellent results. Many lives have been saved. Moreover, countries like Finland have improved his nuclear technique to produce clean electric energy with a carefully management of nuclear waste. In this case, there is a perfect balance between the correct uses of the natural resources and their impact in the environment.

I consider that nuclear technology could be banned for an international and neutral institution that applies the same rules for every country, tihs only in the cases where the goal to reach could be the damage of the humanity based in the construction of weapons or by the negligence of his implementation in the other cases.

Nuclear technology with the correct rules of security and the carefully management of the waste could be the future to produce clean energy without an impact to the environment and the cure for many cancer patients.
